Hi I’m Jeff Wood, author of Nanaimo Realty Blog and a Realtor with Royal LePage Nanaimo.
Hi, I’m Jeff Wood and I love living in Nanaimo, I love writing, and I love real estate.
I started Nanaimo Realty Blog in part because I think most real estate websites are too static, one-sided, cookie-cutter sites that are updated infrequently, have little real value to average folks and are often a bit of a self serving effort on the part of the Realtor. I wanted to share my experiences of getting to know my new home in Nanaimo and my new career having moved here 2.5 years ago and having started me new mid-life career in real estate in the fall of 2016.
Before becoming a Realtor, I spent 20 years as an Executive Headhunter, finding talented people for Fortune 500 clients in the USA and Canada. I have owned as many as 8 multi-family properties at once with some 24 units under rental, so I know what it’s like to buy and sell real estate. I dealt with sme pretty shady realtors and some truly fantastic ones. Now that I am one I understand the challenges of being one and the joy of having people move into their new home with huge smiles on their faces.
I know the real estate industry is far from perfect, and at times can be chaotic, frustrating, and unfair. The process of buying and selling real estate can be among the most trying experiences in life as well. My mission behind Nanaimo Realty Blog is to bring more transparency to the industry, and be as open, honest, and opinionated as I can be – within the rules, that is!
I have a passion for writing, and I have a passion for real estate. I’m also one of the most opinionated people you’ll ever meet, and I pride myself on being brutally honest and professional. Put that all together, and you’ve got Nanaimo Realty Blog.
